real wedding- Kirsty & Rikki

This wedding was the ultimate vibe full to the brim with unique wedding ideas and personal touches. So if you don’t get inspo from this wedding - I don’t know where you will!

Let me tell you all about Kirsty & Rikki’s big day

To say I was obsessed with their ceremony is an understatement.

Kirsty & Rikki opted to have the ceremony performed by Rikki’s sister - during the drinks reception they had a registrar attend and completed the legal documents so were still married on the day.

The ceremony layout was runway style. This meant the aisle ran down the middle, but the chairs were facing inwards. Harry Sounds created a platform that the couple stood on and meant all guests could see.

Top Tips for runway aisles:

- Ensure you have reserved signs for important guests - front row
- Ensure you leave enough space for photography & Videography team
- Ensure your guests fill the front row seats

The ceremony was filled with touches like personalised vows, readings, live music and comments from their children.

After the ceremony, guests moved straight outside the ceremony room and lined the path for confetti. Kirsty had made confetti cones which guests could grab on their way out - filled with dried petals.

Once the couples walked through, they headed in the direction of the drinks reception and all guests followed.

The couple headed straight in to their legal ceremony, whilst guests mingled, drank and ate canapes.

Twenty one events continued to play music. The couples opted for Sax during the reception - a change from the piano and choir in the ceremony.

If décor is your thing, Kirsty may be your best friend. She thought of every single element. Edwina Lowe Florals nailed her brief and had gorgeous clouds of florals everywhere.
Kirsty brought a lot of styling elements herself such as gold cutlery, candles, embroidered napkins and … check those butter plates.
When you think you might be being extra, I’d like you to remember that Kirsty had these butter dishes made (see the ones with the little insert for the knife?) and we all loved it.

The Cupcake Queen Solihull made gorgeous ruffled cakes which the couple decided to cut later after the wedding breakfast. We created a great moment where they cut the smaller cake at the top table with wine glasses and then as their children cut the bigger one. This was one of my favourite moments of the whole day!
